Is there such a thing as having enough shoes? Probably not. L'Officiel has carefully scrutinizing all the latest shows looking for this year shoe-trends. Be ready because there's a wind of change! On our radar: fancy flip flops, platform, loafers and more. Check the complete list below.
Chain on the shoe
Necklaces are part of a trend that we have seen often in recent seasons. Next year we will attach this shiny gadget to a pair of shoes. Think of gold or silver that gives extra cachet to your favorite or classic walkers. We saw plenty of successful examples on the runway at Victoria Beckham and Versace.
If you thought flip-flops were already hip last season, prepare yourself for a true inundation of flip-flops next year. In a time where comfort is central, we are not surprised to see a beach favorite on the catwalks. They do get a chunky and chic upgrade with materials like leather and thick, rubber soles.
The prevailing trends of the 1990s are still clearly felt today, and this can be seen in the return of the platform shoe. During the fashion show that presented the spring-summer collections for 2021, the style was indispensable. At Versace we saw the platform sandal in bright colors, at Erdem a platform in neutral version. One thing is certain: the platforms are high on the trend list!
The boundaries between dress codes for men and women seem to be increasingly blurred. Next summer, choose men's shoes to make a statement of gender neutrality, or simply to pull off your most comfortable business look. For spring-summer 2021, slip-on loafers will hit the new shoe trend on the catwalks. Chanel provides a simple design with a small block heel and a subtle addition of the double C's. Combine with a classic nylon stocking and you're ready to go.
After the kitten is whole it is now up to the baby! There is something sweet, delicate and feminine about the low heel that has been spotted on the spring-summer 2021 catwalks either in a block heel or as a variant of the kitten. The baby heels at Versace were especially fun and colorful, while at Acne Studios they look sleek and simple. For each his own.
Last summer, the street scene was already flooded by fishing nets on the street. After the net bag from the supermarket - or the refined version of Jacquemus - our feet were also wrapped in this breathable fabric. All credits belong to Bottega Veneta , for which many fashion enthusiasts owe the house. But now the Italian house Fendi is also introducing ultra-chic and feminine footwear in perforated material aka fishnets in various pastel colors. We can only applaud this spring-summer 2021 trend to let the feet breathe on hot summer days.
A striking detail on high heels and flat sandals are the elegant, sturdy ankle straps that wrap around the foot or function as a strap. This trend emphasizes your feet and ankles in an elegant way and gives a sophisticated look to any outfit. A versatile trend that can be perfectly combined with tights, glitter socks or bare legs. We already gave a tip on how to continue this trend , and apparently it has paid off.
The lace-up shoe
Another trend that seems to have been plucked from the men's wardrobe. Spotted on the catwalk at Louis Vuitton, among others, for Spring-Summer 2021 , this two-tone leather lace-up shoe. You will undoubtedly spot it again next year, with or without a heel.
