A legendary address

Opened in 1885 under the name of Metropole Hotel, the majestic Whitehall Place building was requisitioned by the government of Winston Churchill during the First World War, who installed the British Ministry of Defense there.

Unconditional fan of agent 007? A visit is essential on this site steeped in history often described as "British spy headquarters" which was once an integral part of MI6, the British external intelligence service.

Popular with the intelligentsia and artists of all stripes, the Metropole welcomed many celebrities during the interwar period. After a staggering renovation of $ 490 million, the hotel reopened in 2011 under the aegis of the Corinthia Hotels International group.

Immediately taken by storm by the international elite of show business, the address is an essential London's hot spot among personalities such as: Beyoncé, Jay Z, George Clooney, Kanye West or Rihanna -- who stay there regularly, as well as Victoria Beckham and Lily Rose Depp.

Besides its spacious and luxurious suites which will make you feel at home, the place is particularly popular for its penthouses, grand private apartments, that offer breathtaking views of the Thames and the London Eye.

A paradise for foodies and more particularly for diehard lovers of the barbaque. The hotel houses a grill piloted by famed chef Tom Kerridge, and the Northall, a majestic restaurant with vertiginous ceilings and a menu prepared by chef André Garrett.

WE love

-Excellent breakfast served in the majestic Northall room. Healthy and varied, it adapts perfectly to the dietary restrictions of gluten free and other lactose intolerant.

-The impeccable comfort of the suites and their timeless design, crowned by the flawless professionalism of the hotel's butlers who know how to make themselves available while knowing how to be forgotten

-Afternoon tea, delicious ritual that you discover in the cozy intimacy of the lounge which is entirely dedicated to it. A magical space bathed in natural light, with a dome surmounted by 1001 Baccarat crystals. A hard choice between the many varieties of green, black teas and rare infusions, accompanied by savory sandwiches and delicious pastries.

-The impressive flower arrangements of the hotel, full-fledged works of art created on site thanks to the know-how of the florist-house.

-The sublime ESPA spa of the hotel, a soothing enclave where you can disconnect from the London bustle: After passing through the floor dedicated to hydrotherapy which houses the sauna, hammam, ice fountain, massage jets and sensory showers, we discover with delight the excellent care of Dr. Barbara Sturm, provided on site by practitioners with fairy fingers. Glow concentrates which exploit the virtues of its eponymous cosmetic products, but also Mesotherapy and microneedling.
