The&nbsp;Folklore&nbsp;singer's latest song "Carolina" will serve as the theme for&nbsp;Where the Crawdads Sing, the latest film from Reese Witherspoon's production company, Hello Sunshine.

<a href="https://www.lofficiel.co.uk/pop-culture/taylor-swift-releases-red-taylors-version-album-10-minute-all-too-well" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Taylor Swift</a>&nbsp;debuted her&nbsp;new song, "Carolina," in the first trailer for&nbsp;the upcoming film&nbsp;Where the Crawdads Sing,&nbsp;an adaptation of Delia Owens' 2018 novel of the same name. The movie stars&nbsp;<a href="https://www.lofficiel.co.uk/film-tv/sebastian-stan-margot-robbie-interview-pam-and-tommy-fresh-i-tonya-gossip-girl" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Fresh</a>'s&nbsp;<a href="https://www.lofficiel.co.uk/fashion/daisy-edgar-jones-interview-simone-rocha-hm-collaboration-white-dress" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Daisy Edgar-Jones</a>&nbsp;and is being produced by&nbsp;<a href="https://www.lofficiel.co.uk/fashion/sag-awards-2022-winners-red-carpet-fashion-style" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Reese Witherspoon</a>'s production company Hello Sunshine.
"Carolina" is&nbsp;<a href="https://www.lofficiel.co.uk/fashion/jake-gyllenhaal-comments-for-the-first-time-music-by-taylor-swift" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Swift</a>'s first completely unreleased song since she dropped her album&nbsp;Evermore&nbsp;in late 2020. Written together with her friend Aaron Dessner with whom she previously collaborated on his last two albums,&nbsp;Folklore&nbsp;and&nbsp;Evermore, the song recalls the melancholic notes of the old hit "Safe and Sound," which was written as the lead single on&nbsp;The Hunger Games&nbsp;soundtrack.

Over the last year, the singer has dedicated her efforts to&nbsp;<a href="https://www.lofficiel.co.uk/pop-culture/taylor-swift-fearless-re-recorded-love-story-grammys-nominations-scooter-braun" target="_blank" rel="noopener">re-recording</a>&nbsp;her older music&mdash;with the addendum "(Taylor's Version)"&mdash;that was recorded while she was under contract at Big Machine Records in a move to regain the right to her own songs.
In 2021, Swift dropped&nbsp;<a href="https://www.lofficiel.co.uk/pop-culture/taylor-swift-fearless-love-story-re-recorded-new-album-tonight" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Fearless (Taylor's Version)</a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a href="https://www.lofficiel.co.uk/pop-culture/taylor-swift-releases-red-taylors-version-album-10-minute-all-too-well">Red (Taylor's Version)</a>, both to massive success. On these re-released albums, the singer also premiered several unreleased songs "from the vault,"&nbsp; including the original&nbsp;10-minute version&nbsp;of her breakup ballad "All Too Well," which fans believe is about her breakup with actor&nbsp;<a href="https://www.lofficiel.co.uk/fashion/jake-gyllenhaal-comments-for-the-first-time-music-by-taylor-swift" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Jake Gyllenhaal</a>. In February, she also collaborated with&nbsp;<a href="https://www.lofficiel.co.uk/food/hide-restaurant-near-me-london-ed-sheeran" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Ed Sheeran</a>&nbsp;on a remix of his song "The Joker and the Queen."
