Married to the princes of England, the duchesses do not wear princess titles. Understand!

<a href="https://www.revistalofficiel.com.br/beleza/kate-middleton-muda-de-visual-e-aposta-em-tom-de-cabelo-mais-claro-do-que-nunca">Kate Middleton</a> and Meghan Markle are some of the most popular names in the British royal family - either for their social cause projects or even for their refined styles. Even though fairy tales have made us believe in the power that the title of princess can bring to someone (with the status worthy of great castles, sparkling dresses and even a prince charming), why are they just called duchesses?

Understanding this is simpler than it looks! It is believed that it is for two reasons that lead people to receive the titles, as well as use them: 1) the succession of the title from parents to children; and 2) its importance.

Victoria Arbiter, a real expert at CNN, explained in an interview the case of Kate Middleton, which applies perfectly to Meghan as well. For the publication, she reveals that because Kate was not born a princess, she does not have this title in her own right. In other words, to be a &ldquo;real princess&rdquo;, you must be born into the royal family, as with Princess Charlotte, daughter of William and Kate.

Upon being married, William received the title of Duke of Cambridge and, consequently, Kate assumed the role of Duchess of Cambridge. The same applies to Markle, who shortly after the wedding became Duchess of Sussex. According to Arbiter, &quot;to refer to Kate as &#39;Princess Kate&#39; is simply incorrect.&quot; Lady D&nbsp;herself, who is known worldwide as &#39;Princess Diana&#39;, admitted that her public title &quot;Princess&quot; was not formally correct. The publication also reveals that the title of duchess has more weight than that of princess, since it refers to a function and not to a family inheritance.

Remember that all Kate Middleton titles will change, both when Charles becomes king, and also when William takes the throne. The expert says that Kate&#39;s titles will change from &ldquo;Duchess of Cambridge&rdquo; to &ldquo;Princess of Wales&rdquo; when her father-in-law sits on the throne and, when it is her husband&#39;s turn, she will become &ldquo;Queen Consort&rdquo;. Chic!
