Anne Hathaway reveals that she was the ninth choice for Devil Wears Prada

The American actress was not the directors' first choice to play dear Andrea Sachs in the celebrated film

Can you imagine the iconic film “Devil wears Prada” without Anne Hathaway? Even though this is one of the most well-known roles of her career today, becoming a true symbol for fashion lovers, things could have been quite different. That's because Anne revealed that she was the 9th choice for the film. You believe?


In a special appearance during the reality show RuPaul's Drag Race, Hathaway was talking to the contestants until the question arose: “Of your many roles in films, was there one that you had to, like, fight tooth and nail?”. The actress's response was, "How long do you have?"


Until she reveals: "I was the ninth choice for the Devil Wears Prada". The reaction, of course, was of great surprise to all the contestants, because she was perfect for the role - even forming an incredible duo with the award-winning actress Meryl Streep! "But I got it! Hold on and never give up! "Encouraged Anne.

So who could have stayed in such a fun role as Andrea Sachs? Well, the eternal Regina George, Rachel McAdams was one of the options. In an interview with Elle in 2007, the actress revealed that she refused because she didn't want to make films to make, that she needed to be in love with it. Recalling that "Devil Wears Prada" was aired only 2 years after his great success in "Mean Girls".


Along with Rachel, 7 other names were on the list before dear Anne and, although a list of all the actresses who had this great opportunity was not released, a Buzzfeed report revealed that names like Juliette Lewis and Claire Danes auditioned for the role that stayed with Hathaway.
