The premiere of a new ice show by Ilya Averbukh “Shutovskaya svadebstvo” will be held December 13 in Malta. This will be the first ice show in the history of the island's nation.

The Moscow presentation of the play was held at the Metropol Hotel. The guests of the festival were stage director Ilya Averbukh, leading actors Alexei Yagudin, Tatyana Totmyanina and Maxim Marinin, Ekaterina Bobrova and Dmitry Soloviev, composer Alexei Shor, as well as President of the European Culture Support Foundation, project organizer Konstantin Ishkhanov

All those present saw the bright costumes of the characters of the play, corresponding to the historical era, and the famous musicians Karen Shahgaldyan (violin), Alexander Knyazev (cello) and Philip Kopachevsky (piano) played the music for the play, written by Alexei Shor.

According to Ilya Averbukh, &ldquo;for the first time to bring an ice show to a southern country is not an easy task. Over 100 tons of scenery and equipment were shipped to Malta. &rdquo;

In order for the viewer to feel the atmosphere of the historical era, the organizers made a lot of efforts. The production was performed by Nino Kobiashvili, a graduate of St. Martin&rsquo;s British Central College of Art and Design.

Large-scale installations for the ice show were created in the image of the Arc de Triomphe and the Ice Palace. The central mechanical construction of the whole performance will be the huge crown of the empress in the form of a Faberge egg.

Costume designers are the owners of the Golden Mask theater prize Vadim Volya and Olga-Maria Tumakova. They were faced with the task of preserving the baroque aesthetics and maximizing the adaptation of suits for ice skating.

Skaters shared their expectations from the upcoming show:

Ilya Averbukh: &ldquo; I want to express my gratitude to the European Culture Support Foundation in the person of Konstantin Ishkhanov for supporting our idea and faith in the project. The story itself, taken as the basis of the ice show, is very interesting - it&rsquo;s not only about the clownish wedding arranged by Empress Anna Ioannovna, it&rsquo;s about Russia as a whole. &rdquo;

Alexei Yagudin : &ldquo;I have been working as a jester with Ilya Averbukh for 16 years, I ran both with a parrot and with a mouse in the Nutcracker. Therefore, when you need a jester for the play, I am the first to be invited to the role. In this performance I play the beloved jester Anna Ioannovna, and of course we are all very interested to visit Malta, for our entire team this is the first performance on this island. &rdquo;

Ekaterina Bobrova : &ldquo;I&rsquo;ve recently joined Ilya&rsquo;s team, so when he invited me to participate in such a large-scale and grandiose event, I was in seventh heaven. I got the role of Empress Anna Ioannovna, this is not the easiest character. I am by nature a very gentle person, so I will have to make an effort to play the role of an empress with such a character &rdquo;

Tatyana Totmyanina: &ldquo;Recently, I began to study the history of our state, so it was a great joy to touch it in the play. I play the approximate cracker of the Empress, who is allowed to do more than others, however, all female friendships have an end. True, the story of my heroine ends positively. This is the first historical performance by Ilya Averbukh, and it is very unusual for us to participate in such a project. &rdquo;

Maxim Marinin : &ldquo;Throughout Ilya&rsquo;s projects, I slowly evolved along the social ladder of roles. He started with the metaphysical - he was a wind and a blizzard, then he slowly &ldquo;grew&rdquo; into animals. The role of the jester in love for me should be a new stage in my acting skills. &rdquo;

Aleksey Shor, composer: &ldquo;The ice performance became an adaptation of the Crystal Palace ballet, to which I originally composed music. Therefore, I was worried about how it would fall on the scenario of the Shutovskaya Wedding. In addition, several more compositions were written that harmoniously linked all in a single story. &rdquo;

Konstantin Ishkhanov, President of the European Fund for the Support of Culture: &ldquo;Every year, our foundation holds dozens of festivals and concerts of classical music, many workshops, ballet and theater performances. This year, for the first time, we decided to pay attention to the ice show. &ldquo;Shutovskaya svadba&rdquo; was prepared for six months from scratch thanks to the dedicated work of our team together with the professionals of the production company Ilya Averbukh. The key point is that in Malta an ice show of this level will be held for the first time. Of course, this is a major contribution to the development and strengthening of bilateral relations and cultural ties between our countries. &rdquo;
