With this hot weather, we really need some refreshment ... Preferably in the form of a trendy summer drink.

For in your water, lemonade, iced tea or G&amp;T. Floral icicles can be thought of as small sculptures ; architectural elements such as shape, texture, color and clarity of ice are important to achieve a beautiful result. It&#39;s about trying, calculating and giving it your personal touch. In the end, it&#39;ll feel summery anyway, and that might be the easy part of this experience.

The choice of flowers depends on your taste, the feel and the presentation you want the ice cubes to give. Let yourself be inspired by your last trip, architecture, nature and colors. Our advice? Try some ice cubes with a hint of spice, hibiscus or grapefruit. After all, any edible flower is a good choice for flower ice cubes. For example, violets not only give a fine taste, but also fit perfectly into the shape of the ice cube. You may even be able to use your favorite herbal tea as a substitute for water.

Making edible flower ice cubes is easy, but there are a few tips to get the best results:

1. Harvest the flowers just before you use them. The latter must be picked at the peak of their freshness, always intact and beautiful.

2. Taste them! There are plenty of flowers to choose from, but note that the flavor works with the drink they are meant to cool. The radish-like flowers are very pretty and will go well in a Bloody Mary , but may be less suited to lemonade.

3. Fill the ice cube tray halfway with water, then place the flower on the surface. Gently pour a few drops of water on the flower so that when you freeze it, it stays in place.

5. Freeze for 12-24 hours, then pour in another layer of water to fill the ice cube trays. Work quickly so that they don&#39;t melt. Freeze them for an additional 12 to 24 hours.

A few more tips: use boiled water for clear ice cubes. Tap water usually produces lime blocks which, by the way, don&#39;t necessarily have to be bad for the body. However, clear ice cubes show flowers better, while calcareous and therefore opaque ice cubes give the effect of vitreous cracks. Additionally, use the ice cubes within 2 weeks and serve them in clear drinks for best results.
