As the world opens up a new version of literary classic The Great Gatsby is coming to New York's Broadway with help from Florence Welch.

For many, F. Scott Fitzgerald&#39;s classic recalls extravagant millionaire Jay Gatsby, the era of jazz and art deco, romantic landscapes that served as scenery for the 1920s, and fancy parties on in the fictional Long Island, New York town of West Egg. For others,&nbsp;The Great Gatsby&nbsp;means&nbsp;<a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/pop-culture/leonardo-dicaprio-best-90s-moments-young-heartthrob">Leonardo DiCaprio</a><a href="https://www.lofficiel.co.uk/pop-culture/leonardo-di-caprio-american-sex-symbols-girlfriend-gisele-bunchen-blake-lively">&nbsp;</a>in one of his best roles&mdash;the 2013 film of the same name by Baz Luhrmann. One should also remember the 1974 adaptation made by Jack Clayton with Mia Farrow and Robert Redford that won two Oscars. 
 
Now, lovers of literature, will be able to enjoy the iconic story in a musical version on<a href="https://www.lofficiel.co.uk/film-tv/the-queens-gambit-biggest-serie-tv-broadway-anya-tailor-joy">&nbsp;Broadway.</a> The new stage adaptation will premiere in New York with music by Florence Welch&#39;s band, Florence + Machine, and Thomas Bartlett aka aka Doveman, the Oscar-nominated producer of&nbsp;Sound of Metal.

The Great Gatsby&nbsp;is the first new musical announced since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. Such a large event for the entertainment world must be planned with the highest responsibility, as well as the best health and security measures for the peace of mind of all spectators and cast.&nbsp; 
 
&ldquo;This book has haunted me for a large part of my life,&quot; said Welch in a statement. &quot;It contains some of my favorite lines in literature. Musicals were my first love, and I feel a deep connection to Fitzgerald&rsquo;s broken romanticism. It is an honor to have been offered the chance to recreate this book in song.&rdquo; 
 
The musical will also feature lyrics by Pulitzer Prize winner Martyna Majok, who was personally invited by producers Len Blavatnik, Amanda Ghost, and Robert Fox, and will be directed by Rebecca Frecknall.
