After a drama-packed Season 1, our favorite Upper East Siders are returning to HBO Max for a new season. As the students of Constance Billard and St. Jude continue to get up to no good, Gossip Girl is ready to keep exposing the dirty details. Here's everything we know so far about what's in store for the next chapter in the lives of the Gossip Girl&nbsp;crew.&nbsp;

Filming for Season 2 began on February 4, leading fans to believe that the premiere for the new season will be later this year. However, neither HBO Max nor show creator Joshua Safran has confirmed a set date.&nbsp;

It's likely that the <a href="https://www.lofficiel.co.uk/film-tv/gossip-girl-reboot-part-2-reveals-trailer-hbo-max">whole main cast</a> will return for the new season. Jordan Alexander, Savannah Smith, Zion Moreno, Eli Brown, Whitney Peak, Thomas Doherty, Evan Mock, and Emily Alyn Lind have yet to formally confirm their returns, however, they have all been spotted shooting the new season across New York City and posting TikToks together on set.
No mention of any new additions to the cast have been made, but we wouldn't be surprised if a new "Queen B" stepped into the show.&nbsp;

While we still don't know much about the plot for Season 2, several cast members shared their hopes in an interview with <a href="https://www.elle.com/culture/movies-tv/a36943912/gossip-girl-hbo-season-2-news-release-date-trailer/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">ELLE</a>.&nbsp;Alexander, who plays Julien Calloway, shared that she wants her character to "tap more into her authenticity and not edit herself so much. I think that would probably be good for her and everybody else too.&rdquo;&nbsp;
Smith, who plays Monet de Haan, said she wants her character to "get into the relationships she has with her parents and maybe some past experiences. I think that, for Monet, her portal into being human is family. So I really want to find out if she has any siblings, if she has real relationships instead of just posing Julien for a picture.&rdquo;
Moreno, who plays Luna La, shared that she wants to see Luna fall in love.&nbsp;
<a href="https://deadline.com/2021/11/gossip-girl-hbo-max-sets-premiere-date-for-part-2-season-1-1234871433/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Deadline</a>&nbsp;reported that the new season will also touch on how social media and New York have changed the lives of these characters.&nbsp;

Although we love a good cameo, no new cameos for season two have been confirmed yet. While we loved the name-dropping in Season 1, we're hoping to see some of the original cast members come back.
Prior to the show's premiere, Safran said in an interview with <a href="https://www.thedailybeast.com/gossip-girl-creator-joshua-safran-on-why-ivanka-and-jared-are-not-welcome?ref=scroll" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Daily Beast</a>&nbsp;that having the original cast members back could take away from the new characters. He wanted the audience to get familiar with the new era of Gossip Girl&nbsp;before throwing in figures from the past. However, <a href="https://www.lofficiel.co.uk/pop-culture/celebrities-shocking-past-leighton-mester-oprah" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Leighton Meester</a> recently said she'd be open to making a reappearance. We can only hope that the arrival of Season 2 means we'll get to see Serena, Blair, Chuck, Nate, and Dan back in action.&nbsp;
