How do you see the future of fashion retail after the pandemic?

I see the future as positive. A pause was needed to restore the right order of things. Fashion does not stop and will never stop, we should be just a little more careful and rethink certain production logics.

What moves do you think the fashion system should implement ?

There are no revealing moves: we sail on sight, with the hope that this epidemic will end and we will return to live peacefully. The only thing to do is what has been done: move everything in September, fairs and fashion weeks. Even for the collections, it would be wonderful to receive the new collections a month late, in order to guarantee us more time for the sale of the old ones.

Physical and online retail?

Today online is mandatory: while the body unfortunately remains closed and we will not know when we will be able to reopen, online remains a certainty.

How do you see the future of fashion retail after the pandemic?

A human and interactive future in which technology will play an increasingly important role. All communication between individuals will be supported and facilitated by new technologies that will modify all the modalities relating to the fashion retail universe. In this way, it will be possible to virtually try on a garment and see if the size is fine, until you find out about new trends and new products.

What are the moves that according to them the fashion system should implement

As is happening in Asia, I think that technology, and in particular live streaming and any form of interaction between fashion actors, will certainly have to be implemented as well in other countries. Furthermore, funds dedicated to the development of all these new technologies necessary to develop a business in an even more personalized and effective way will be necessary. I also think of optical fibers to accelerate the exchange of data and also the training centers dedicated to the relative professional skills that these innovative technologies will require. To facilitate this, the first step should be to streamline and speed up the Italian bureaucratic system.

How can digital support your work?

The emergency of Covid-19 in Milan forced Paris to an immediate counter-offensive. We thought of creating a digital reality in which buyers and customers were directly interconnected by facilitating the B2B process and extending the sales campaign at least until June. Today digital can truly support fashion and that&#39;s why we thought of a real Virtual Showroom. Thanks to V-Rroom, NOB starts a new path. It will be possible to show retailers the collections most in line with their needs, to explore the universe of designers and their creativity with videos and interactive functions, right up to the production and digitalization of orders. All this supports and joins the work of the traditional showroom, strengthening the human factor that remains the main element, even in an interactive system that imposes the distance between us.

How do you see the future of fashion after the pandemic?

Fashion is constantly changing, but we predict that consumer behavior and purchasing patterns will change due to the pandemic. Online luxury shopping has grown exponentially in recent years as customers feel more comfortable buying luxury goods and clothing or accessories from the comfort of their home. However, Moscot, which has a distribution in both fashion and opticians, will always be tied to physical stores to try on frames or do eye exams. We expect the growth of an omni-channel experience with different contact points for our physical and digital stores: our customers will be able to try in the store, shop online, then maybe order online or collect the product in the store. In general we think that customers will become more comfortable with online purchases and will be able to relate to staff through different communication channels.

How are you reacting to this crisis?

As a family run business with a history of over 105 years we have faced many difficult times and other pandemics over time. For example, the first generation survived the Spanish flu, while the second managed to overcome the great depression, distributing free glasses during those difficult times. We learned from our predecessors and believe in the same moral values. We overcame 9/11 and other tragic events with resilience and restoring strength to our community. Today we launched a new solidarity initiative to combat Covid-19 and provide US doctors in the front line with free glasses (with and without a prescription). During times of crisis, we support our communities and take care of the health of others. This situation is particularly difficult for our Moscot stores because of the lockdown, but we are doing everything possible to remain operational and survive this crisis, especially by keeping the employees in the company, who are part of our family. We care about our staff, some of whom have been with us for over 50 years, and plan to emerge from this stronger pandemic than before.

As a global brand, we are grateful for the way everyone is working together to fight this pandemic. We hope that things will return to normal and we are here and we will always be here to satisfy people&#39;s &quot;optical&quot; needs.
