It has been 8 long months since the Perseverance rover left for the planet Mars . The Mars2020 mission today will reach its destination on the red planet in search of new forms of life. The Perseverance rover landing is scheduled for today at 21:55 and you can follow the live streaming video of the landing on Mars on L&#39;Officiel Italia. In total it will be about ten minutes of terror, the descent of Perseverance will take place in the Martian crater of Jezero, an ancient river delta that bodes well for the new search for life. The robot will test the red planet&#39;s temperatures above 1,300 degrees and will have to slow down enough to prevent impact with the ground. The last time in 2016 with Schiaparelli, there had been a failure for the European mission due to the failure to slow down during the landing.

Last week two other probes landed on Mars, the Chinese Tianwen-1 and the Arab Emirates Amal, today NASA will put into practice the new landing with Terrain Relative Navigation technology. The new software will help Perseverance orient itself during landing and the 2km height will also detach the rear shield and the parachute and the rover will lower as slowly. Perseverance will find himself hooked to a cable system called the Skycrane which will slowly pull him to the ground.
