With Bruno Sialelli, Lanvin begins a new turn

Highly anticipated, the successor of Olivier Lapidus unveiled this morning his first collection, mixed please, for Lanvin.

New year, new artistic director, new style, too, and so new story for the Lanvin house. Four years after the departure of Alber Elbaz, who had succeeded Bouchra Jarrar then Olivier Lapidus, now Bruna Sialelli takes the reins of the institution created by Jeanne at the end of the 20th century. From this heritage, the 31-year-old from Marseille was obviously inspired. At Madame and Monsieur, no rib: the lines are fluid, highlighted by games of transparency and signature silks. Gothic, classical, naive, pastel or sepia ... Sialelli gives himself to the heart of the field of the scarf print, as he excels in the art of "layering" - he has sharpened these last two years, to Jonathan Anderson's side at Loewe. From top to bottom, each overlay is thought in coherence: tartan apron on body lurex, mosaic bathrobe under shearling coat ... Not to mention the accessories: a fishing hat, boots and a bucket bag for a couple of wise rurbans. A good omen for the Lanvin house, bought in February 2018 by the Chinese conglomerate Fosun International.
