The bucolic atmosphere, the floral apissière but also the musical performances at hip hop rhythm and the protests against climate change. All this is the world of Stella McCartney , who with her rebellious and independent spirit brings her vision of the cultural mix to Milan. At the entrance a parade of a student collective boys and girls wore anti-climate change slogans, in particular the hymn "We are the weather" as a warning to act actively against pollution, because to make a difference for our planet we are we. The capsule, which is named in honor of Jonathan Safran Foer's forthcoming novel on the climate crisis, is characterized by phrases that stimulate reflection on the themes of global warming and a solar motif graphic stands out on knitwear, organic cotton shirts, shorts and t-shirts. At the center of the garden of this historic building in Milan, Stella's eco-friendly ethics and commitment and the future hope of creating a circular economy, with 64% of garments made of sustainable materials, went on display. The designer, in fact, used organic cotton, sustainable viscose, regenerated ECONYL® nylon and recycled polyester. Thirty-six new looks between the men's and women's collection are a journey through all the classics that define the brand: the balance between tailoring and streetwear, the the Savile Row men's suit, the rouches of the most romantic evening dresses, the hand-painted horses run on a silk shirt, a tie and a pair of matching shorts and testify to the love of Sir Paul McCartney's daughter for the animals . The leopard is introduced for the first time in a Spring-Summer collection: the prints are made starting from photocopies of enlarged ecological furs; while utility wear appears in various forms throughout the collection, reflecting the double nature of activist and professional of the Stella McCartney man. The result of an unexpected interpretation of camouflage, an extraordinary suit is enriched with a satellite print of the Earth. At the end of the event a performance by an Italian jazz band, under a big moon-shaped lamp, rapper Tkay Maidza. We should all be "Eco-Weirdo" and really be more attentive to our planet. Word of Stella.
