In a historical moment marked by uncertainty and disorientation, Prada chooses to address complexity without shortcuts. Titled &quot; Before and Next ,&quot; the Fall/Winter 2026 men&#39;s collection designed by Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons reflects on the possibility of creating from what already exists, transforming the past into an active tool for interpreting the present. &quot;It&#39;s an uncomfortable historical situation,&quot; Miuccia Prada admits backstage during the meet-and-greet with the press, &quot;because with everything that&#39;s happening, you either think about the world, or about fashion, which is made up of small things. But our profession is to continue working, researching, respecting, and loving.&quot; The collection was born precisely from this unresolved tension, that desire to be intellectually honest while operating within a luxury system.

The result is an evolution that doesn&#39;t erase memory, but layers it. &quot;Looking back means using the knowledge you have, celebrating it, and at the same time trying to innovate,&quot; explains Raf Simons. It&#39;s not a direct reaction to contemporary events, but the need to not stand still, to continue suggesting a possible evolution. The new silhouette is sharp, lean yet controlled , ultra-fit to the point of being uncomfortable. A formal gesture that restores center stage to the body and its posture, without unnecessary emphasis. &quot;It&#39;s a reaction,&quot; observes Raf Simons. &quot; After so many rigid shoulders, uniforms, soldiers of all kinds, we wanted something more comforting: a very soft shoulder, assertive but not aggressive.&quot; Simplicity thus becomes a statement, a measured response to an excess of signs and declarations. This translates into garments inspired by familiar archetypes such as coats and suits, constructed with a complexity that is only revealed up close. Apparently simple, they conceal within them a precise, almost archaeological architecture. Collage prints interweave references to different eras, from antiquity to modernity, composing a layered map of human thought and experience.

Furthering the reflection, the Fondazione Prada &#39;s Deposito, designed by OMA as a liminal space with doors, wooden paneling, and imaginary fireplaces, further enhances the space. On the topic of intellectual honesty, Prada is explicit: &quot;We work for a brand that sells expensive clothes, so we have to engage with beauty and elegance to understand what is credible.&quot; Sustainability is also addressed without rhetoric: &quot;If we were completely sustainable, we wouldn&#39;t have to produce anything. There&#39;s a lot of hypocrisy in that. Being honest means doing our job to the best of our ability, bringing quality, understanding, relevance.&quot; In &quot; Before and Next ,&quot; the future isn&#39;t an abstract promise. It&#39;s a possibility born from the ability to transform what we can still learn from the past. &quot;Who knows what the future is?&quot; concludes Miuccia Prada. &quot;What you can do is maintain what you can transform.&quot;

In the front row, Prada brought together an international community that reflected the fashion house&#39;s ongoing dialogue with cinema, music, sport, and contemporary culture. Among the guests was the Puerto Rican singer Rauw Alejandro and musicians Jack Harlow , Mahmood , Troye Sivan And Saint Levant represented a global and transversal sound scene, while from K-pop came Karina , member of the group aespa. Cinema played a central role with actors such as Nicholas Hoult , Kelvin Harrison Jr. , Damson Idris , Maya Hawke , Levon Hawke , Louis Partridge , and Jannis Niewöhner , alongside well-known Asian figures such as Greg Hsu , Kentaro Sakaguchi , Win Metawin Opas-iamkajorn , and Byeon Wooseok . British director Akinola Davies Jr. was also present , underscoring Prada&#39;s focus on cinematic language.
