Gucci rethinks the idea of a fashion show, with a rotating carousel where it reveals the behind the scenes, with the dressers who prepare the models on the notes of Ravel's bolero

The Gucci fashion show for Autumn-Winter 2020-21 has already started to be talked about during London Fashion week, when the insiders that the maison had decided to invite received a voice message via whatsapp from Alessandro Michele in person. In the tone of a chat with friends the creative director of the brand remembered the appointment and, in case they hadn&#39;t been too busy, offered them to go. But those absolute geniuses who plan Gucci&#39;s communication (and who are veterans from the triumphant operation Achille Lauro in Sanremo) did not stop there, because once inside the room, the guests found the revealed backstage. What few people see, that is the behind the scenes of a fashion show, for once has become the protagonist, with the models accommodated each in a make-up position, where make-up artist and hair stylist gave the finishing touches before start the show. And what a show, a reworking of the parade concept. Rather a ritual, as MIchele himself defines it from the beginning moving for the voice of the unforgettable Federico Fellini, in the year in which the 100th anniversary of his birth is celebrated. After that, on the notes of Ravel&#39;s bolero, a gigantic carousel starts to move. Another tribute to one of the recurring themes of the director who passed away in 1993, inside which the dressers prepare the models before they take place along the perimeter of the carousel. The looks remain faithful to the axiom of total freedom of expression that made the brand&#39;s fortune, including nineteenth-century crinolines, 70s trouser suits, maxi tartan skirts, oversized jeans with torn knees that smell of grunge or boyish dresses. As Leonardo Sciascia would say, to each his own.
