To quench the thirst of true Haute Couture fans, there is Alexandre Vauthier with a breathtaking collection! Living among uncertain moments since the beginning of social isolation, the French designer, with his team drastically reduced, kept working on ideas even from a distance and, what seemed like a problem, became the solution.
Alexandre Vauthier has a unique way in transforming Haute Couture's pieces from notable events, extremely precious and elegant, to make them wearable during the everyday life, and this time was no different. Even though he created his collection amid dreams of a better future - and, it seems, quite electrifying - photos in a house in the Hamptons or in an alley in Paris make us want to dance with his extravagant 80s looks in the living room, without fear of showing our true self.
24 looks showed the pure talent of Vauthier, never leaving aside his typical aesthetic - the one that has accompanied him since his time as a young apprentice to Thierry Mugler and soon after, as director of Jean-Paul Gaultier.
The photos half shooted in Paris, by Karim Sadli and the other half in the Hamptons through the lenses of the duo Inez and Vinoodh, perfectly translate what Vauthier wants to show us: optimism and hope that a better future will come.
Shapes always hyperfeminine and sensual, choosing,as a tradition, black and gold as the colors of the time. Voluminous layers of ruffles, feathers, sparkles, sequins, vibrant colors, finished with boots, breaking Haute Couture's exquisite elegance, was what we truly call 'without rules'.
