From now until September 3, you can head to New York's East Village to experience the powerful dialogue of the paintings and sculptures.

At the end of 2019, the Brant Foundation <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/categories/art">Art</a> Study Center&rsquo;s East Village location opened&nbsp;its second exhibition.&nbsp;Entitled&nbsp;Third Dimension, the new show displays works from Peter M. Brant&rsquo;s collection and features several pieces not previously shown at the foundation. Inside the former studio of Walter De Maria, viewers can experience a host of exciting works by A-list contemporary artists. John Chamberlain&rsquo;s 12-foot&nbsp;Fuccimanooli (1990) stands tall,&nbsp;and Untitled (2011), a 20-foot wax candle replica of Giambologna&rsquo;s 16th-century sculpture, Rape of the Sabine Women, by Urs Fischer, will melt down over the exhibition&#39;s duration. Other pertinent works by Carl Andre, Glenn Ligon, Rob Pruitt, Cady Noland, and Franz West flaunt the wealth and diversity of the collection while communicating a cohesive curatorial message.

Working with art dealers like John Weber and Leo Castelli, the collection speaks to a larger, overarching history of <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/digital-issues/letter-from-the-editor-we-love-ny-april-2019">New York</a>&rsquo;s modern art scene. With the restoration and transformation of the historic space, works from the collection are placed in dialogue with one another, creating unique perspectives for the viewer to witness. Peter Brant explains his motivation for collecting: &ldquo;The Brant Foundation is committed to collecting artists in depth and sharing these works with the public. This exhibition reflects over 50 years of collecting, which I began in my 20s, supporting living artists such as Claes Oldenburg, Dan Flavin, <a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/art/the-whitney-takes-a-deeper-look-at-andy-warhol-2018">Andy Warhol</a>, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Urs Fischer, Josh Smith, Julian Schnabel, Mike Kelley, and Richard Prince, among others. Now, in addition to the numerous loans the Foundation makes each year, we are fortunate to have our 16,000-square-foot space in Walter De Maria&rsquo;s former studio to show many large scale works we have not been able to put on view for the public until now.&quot;

Third Dimension&nbsp;will be on view until September 3, 2020.
