A completely digital world, characters who live a utopian life and a tale made of technicolor and screaming clothes: the AW21 collection by GCDS invites viewers to forget about reality and get lost in a parallel universe

Is it possible to transform a difficulty, such as the impossibility of physical fashion shows, into a fun new method of exploring the world and the fashion universe? Definitely yes for Giuliano Calza creative director of GCDS.&nbsp;The designer and his entire tenacious team have managed to transform an (apparently) insurmountable obstacle into a multi-faceted advantage, creating a digital planet in which to take refuge their collections, their dreams and their investigations of reality. The public is invited to sit down and enjoy the utopia of a world in which to free their senses, have fun and escape from everyday banality. As with the previous season, the Fall Winter 2021 collection catapults viewers into a universe made of irreverent colors, bold dresses and vibrant accessories in which the (digitized) models move sinuously through a well-defined story. How does the journey into the subconscious begin? Eating a small colored candy (reminiscent of the childhood years when a sweet was enough to change mood) that modifies the perception of reality and leads its characters to explore the mood, the vibrations and the different states of euphoria. The fashion film of the collection, signed Albert Moya , is accompanied by a musical track created especially for the occasion that collects different sounds harmonizing them to the univocal (sand, metallic noises and even the voices of Maisie Williams and Rina Lipa, sister of the most famous Dua).

What does GCDS foresee for next season? An unforgettable wardrobe , certainly, covered by the classic libertine air that is the trademark of the brand. The men&#39;s and women&#39;s collection focuses on luxury, giving each dress a detail that makes it precious and desirable: chains, personalized logos, metallic fringes, sequins, sparkling stones ... Boredom is driven away with euphoria. For the evening, on the other hand, vinyl together with tank tops in knitwear and tailored jackets reign supreme. The color palette is vast but studied in detail: a symphony of ice pink, saffron, pop and black hints with an elegant touch create an intoxicating intrigue that hardly goes unnoticed.

Last, but fundamental, touch for a collection that is preparing to enter the annals of fashion, are the two collaborations with Moon Boot and Alcantara . The iconic Moon Boot is reworked in a GCDS key thanks to a faux-shearling that makes it contemporary, captivating and fun. For Alcantara, on the other hand, the partnership focuses on fabric: Calza in fact used the soft-touch and breathable material declining it in tracksuits, jackets and dresses, proving once again that fashion can be beautiful, innovative and sustainable (Alcantara in fact has been the first Italian company to achieve the certified status of Carbon Neutrality)
