From a brand like Nemozena that wants to make women feel special, one could only wait for an installation, Aglow, a very feminine created, ça va sans, say by an artist: Liz West.
169 colorful acrylic spheres have invaded the center of Milan during the Salone del Mobile , for a unique performance that aims to convey the idea that our contemporary life has unlimited possibilities to reveal the female potential, which enriches our multicultural societies.
Since the beginning of 2018 the installation of Liz West x Nemozena has already been exhibited in Paris, in the Musée Nissim de Cadomondo, and in Dubai, in the Design District, symbolic places, very distant from each other, the former in fact represents the idea of classic, a museum steeped in history and charm, in Dubai instead Aglow merged with a contemporary and trendy culture.
During the Milan Design Week the installation found a home in front of the door of the poet Alessandro Manzoni, in piazza Belgioioso, one of the most characteristic and most typical corners of the city.
Here the 169 fluorescent hemispheres have been placed on the typical white hexagonal pebbles. The edges of these multiple bowls, made in six neon colors, shine as if they were charged with electricity. These "live" circles and the choice of components embody West's interest in the relationship between color and light and his obsession with materials that emphasize work perception. Cast acrylic bowls have a highly reflective concave surface in which the architecture of the surrounding buildings can be viewed, allowing viewers to observe the environment around with a new fluorescent light.
The artist tells us that she has been moved by a unique journey and it is clear that she is really attached to the project by carefully treating the arrangement of every single sphere that is really linked to the project.
Liz West also tells us what she started from to create Aglow: "When I started my collaboration with Nemozena, looking at the spring-summer 2019 lookbook, I was inspired by the textures, patterns and shapes of the dresses. As a woman artist I think it is very important to be supported by brands like Nemozena and have the opportunity to work together "
